I'm very excited to be joining the Walking Warriors this year for the 2nd Annual Walk to Battle Breast Cancer in Washington DC.  As a previous participant in the Avon 2-Day Walk in Washington DC, I'm proud to become a member of this inspiring group in the fight against breast cancer.

The Walking Warriors is a dedicated group of former Avon39 Walkers who banned together in 2018 to continue the fight against breast cancer.  They started raising funds in late 2017 and training in early 2018.  On walk day, May 5, 2018, they had 39 folks walking, some ten miles, while most walked 20 miles.  Despite iffy weather, they were a fierce and determined group, and when all was said and done, the Walking Warriors had raised $100,000 for the Georgetown-Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center's breast cancer research, as well as local community service and education programs.

I'm honored to join this dedicated, 100% volunteer organization this year for the whole 20 miles on Saturday, April 27th, 2019, kicking off at Georgetown University Hospital at 8am.  If you're able to, please consider making a donation to support Walking Warriors!  Our goal is to exceed last year, and every penny counts.  This year's walk will raise critical funds used in our communities, and together we can make a difference to those in need.

And if you're in town, consider coming out to cheer us on along the route!

Thank you so much,

Katie
